Samsung Galaxy A51 Full Review

If 2019 has educated North American nation something, it’s that the Samsung A series includes the majority of the options and value lighting while not the correct flagship. The 2020 census remains evolving and also the company has begun to feature things, adding grade one product name so the Galaxy A51 was born.

Samsung Galaxy A51

This means long after researching the A51 and A50 aspect. For starters, there is another camera in the new model – a 5MP shooter focused tightly. The chipset is in addition to the “1” higher – the A51 is powered by the Exynos 9611 as it hosted 9,610 phones last year. and so the zero.1-inch increase diagonal display keeps the theme already in the lower order.

We’ve put our weak numerology tests on the side and we’re noticing additional updates to the Galaxy A51, almost exclusively for the camera system. There is a primary 48MP Quad Bayer unit that now replaces the conventional A50 25MP module, and the widescreen ultra-angle pocket sensor has grown in pixels: it now stands at 12MP instead of 8MP A50, still with coverage range 123.

And you choose if it reads the update, however, the selfie camera is currently cut at the highest of the screen, not the A50 limit. Infinity-O replaces Infinity-U. The camera itself, in fact, ought to be set to upgrade – a 32MP Quad analgesic unit wherever the A50 could be a 25MP snapper accustomed sit.

Samsung Galaxy A51 unboxing

There is no “new year, new me” once it involves presenting the A-Series, and also the Galaxy A51 is thought as a white box with bright print at the highest of the phone, cutout model numbers to assist determine what is within.

Samsung Galaxy A51

And from the inside, of course, you’ll find the Galaxy A51. In addition to your phone, you’ll get a 15W power adapter — and adaptive high-speed charging device tested and tested by Samsung and a USB-A-to-C cable to disconnect. The main set of headphones is also included, but there is no reason for protection: other manufacturers have exactly the opposite approach, and we will probably choose the case instead of the headset, but each of them.

Design

The Galaxy A51 and A71, announced earlier this year, will be used in Samsung’s new language when it comes to rear camera design. Like it or not, the large rectangular clusters in the upper left corner that group all shooters under one roof is how corporate phones adapt to the growing number of modules. The Galaxy A51 has four cameras in the back.

The report is increased by about a millimeter, but that doesn’t mean you’re particularly prone to wake up if it’s interested in you. Lightning also found space cameras and a fingerprint reader missing at the back, the camera effect being the only thing that interferes with the consistency of the rear panel.

Samsung designers thought the accent was good then and spiced things up with a pretty unique finish. Seemingly, each diagonal line separates the thin bottom duck from the solid top, while the next diagonal line divides the back into a darker and lighter part. There are two diagonals between the X diagonals, with four different quadrants obtained.

And that was before the phone started playing with fire. Our prism Crush Black review unit explodes in rainbow colors when you look at the right angle. We go through the official performances, we see a hint of this rainbow, regardless of the color. We love to watch, even if it were up to us, we would choose one of the smartest colors.

The Galaxy A51 back panel is made of plastic, so we don’t think it’s too durable: Gorilla Glass would inspire a little more confidence. There are several Corning third gene glasses ahead, so the screen should be safer.

This is an Infinity-O panel located at the front of the A51, usually a frameless and sloping screen, but with a small round cut selfie camera. This is the face we know about the 10th-century note in this world, and this is another apparently one sign that the company has beaten right now.

Like bezels, the A51 is a remarkable step on the A50, the chin is now much thinner. The top and sides are even thinner, but the most important thing is that they have the same thickness, which should please them to pay attention to the small details. Like the A50, the Galaxy A51 has a glass on top of the handset.

The phone frame is made of plastic, as last year, and like last year, the physical buttons on the A51 are on the right: what was the point of the entire switcheroo “left button” we saw in the Note10? The buttons themselves are a decent trip, but click a little less satisfactorily when you take them from the middle.

On the left side of the phone, on the way up, you’ll find a map in the box. Our dual SIM controller requires two NANO SIM cards and a microSD at the same time, as you don’t have to choose between additional storage and another SIM card.

At the bottom is a USB-C port in the middle. The headphone jack is located on one side, the speaker, and the main microphone on the other. There’s another microphone upstairs.

The Galaxy A51 measures 158.5×73.6×7.9mm and weighs 172g, making it one of the segment’s most funnel offerings. It is thinner and narrower than the Realme X2 and rival Xiaomi (Mi 9T and Redmi Note 8 Pro, to name a few) and is also lighter while packing a 4000mAh battery. In fact, it’s surprisingly thin and light in hand.

Display

The Galaxy A51 has a Samsung 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a high aspect ratio of 1080 x 2400 pixels for the Samsung 20:9. It’s an Infinity-O panel, which means it has a hole in the selfie camera, not the limit of any variation or shape. A51 and A71 were the first non-insignia companies to adopt this approach, followed by Lite S10 and Note 10.

Infinite-O or otherwise, it is still a Samsung OLED screen and behaves in the same way we expected from them. We measure the maximum brightness of 636nits when adaptive brightness was switched on and 413nits were compromised when the slider was taken over. The minimum brightness was 1.8 units.

Samsung Galaxy A51

Color interpretation is treated confidentially: a natural/vibrant approach recently introduced by Samsung. Natural attempts to reproduce the sRGB content honestly, and we measured a very good DeltaE average of 1.8, although 100% green ended up deviating mainly from 5.4.

Live mode provides a 5-point hot and cool controller, and we’ve been blown mostly in a crisp white and gray warm environment with an average delta E of 2.7 when we look at the color patterns compared to their DCI-P3 lenses. The center of the cursor makes you a little worse than the 3.3 diameter delta and not so accurate target – a slightly moved blue delta 4 melodies.

Samsung Galaxy A51 battery life

Inside the Galaxy A51, there is a 4000mAh battery, the same power as the model that replaces it, and almost during the segment. Despite the same set of chips, the A51 has a slightly larger screen and a different operating system, so we expect at least one difference in battery life and actually what we have.

We recorded 13 1/2 hours online via Wi-Fi, which is an hour longer than the A50 to manage. On the other hand, we see an hour and a half of billed video playback at 2:22 a.m. .m.m.M. – Another decent amount. Speaking time of 22 hours is not great, but it is. Finally, the overall obstacle of the galaxy A51 rises to 86 hours.

Our battery test is automated using the viSer app thanks to a smart screen. The previous durability rating shows how long it takes to charge a single battery when you use a Samsung Galaxy A51 every day for one hour of subsus, web browsing and video playback. We’ve configured this method of use so that battery results are similar to the most common daily tasks. The battery testing process describes a case that is interested in grit. You can view our full battery test table, where you can see how all the smartphones we’ve tested during normal use are compared.

Using the equipped adapter, the Galaxy A51 charges from flat to full in 2:14h, which will not win it any contests, however is fairly tight. At the 30-minute mark, we have a tendency to were staring at thirty-fifth, which too is not laudable.

You can use playback controls to listen to the assumel recordings on your phone. We measure the average volume of speakers in LUFS. A lower absolute value means a higher sound. Check the frequency chart to see how far the ideal flat “0db” bass, sharp and average frequency is. Add more phones and compare them if different. The ratings and ratings are not comparable to our senior speaker test. Read more about how we test here.

Audio quality

Then – test the quality of the output via the audio port. The Samsung Galaxy A51 provided an animated performance with an active external amplifier that won over the best brands while maintaining an impressively powerful voice.

The volume remained high with headphones and we received additional distortion and a small amount of stereo crosstalk. Given all things, it’s a great achievement for the average ranger.

Android 10 and One UI 2 out of the box

The Galaxy A51 is one of the first Samsung phones to introduce Android 10 out of the box, with the latest custom One 2.0 user interface. It is nice to see that new models are launched with their software already up to date, rather than waiting a few months for OTA.

We have already seen a combination of 10/2.0 of various advanced galaxies where it came as an upgrade. In addition, the second version of the interface is not very different from the original, except for the new navigation link movement. But there are some surprises in the design of the A51: you can get a fringe display.

Previously reserved for headlights that go to curved edge screens, the screen features an edge set that has found its way into the galaxy A51 mainly flat. Edge panels are a well-known, long-term feature that provides quick access to apps, features, tools, etc. Edge subsided also has Edge lighting – it’s a feature that can illuminate different types of brightness at the edges of the message, and as you probably suspect, there are plenty of options and styles to choose from.

Samsung Galaxy A51

Navigation gestures are also available, and you can choose one arc 2 action set or return to arc 1 on how to do things. The first is similar to the current original Android 10 approach side view “Back” and sweeping bottom for men or task switch. The old model is by moving three separate areas at the bottom to do what the keys were used on the screen. If you don’t bother with gestures, the usual navigation bar on the screen is still one option.

Another major recent development came from the A51, including the dark state. Skins onion elements black and shade dark gray and also creates dark conditions supported by applications that set the house and google (not maps, but not yet).
The Galaxy A51 biometrics includes an optical fingerprint reader and only a base facial recognition camera. The experience with a fingerprint reader is seamless, with a normal device having a few steps that later feels a bit tedious, but it’s worth it in terms of accuracy.

It’s not the fastest sensors and feels more like Samsung’s ultrasonic units flagship, not a good, almost instantaneous optician, and laggy animation doesn’t help the sense of speed, but it’s mostly a usable reader that can’t get in the way.

In addition, the Galaxy A51 interface is when we came to enjoy it. Changing activity UI elements from the bottom to an easier option is widely praised, and we are also digging into iconography.

Galaxy A51 launches the Exynos 9611 home library: a smaller 9610 upgrade found in last year’s model and an update that only includes support for high-speed cameras. In fact, we’ve made a performance-enhancing M30 that also uses 9611, so it’s likely to happen more than at first glance in the same way as spec sheets.

By the way, this Exynos is built into the 10nm process and packs an eight-core processor with a classic configuration of 2×4-4×2.3GHz Cortex-A73 and 4×1.7GHz Cortex-A53 configurations. The GPU is a Mali-G72 MP3. There are three versions of RAM/storage – 4/64GB, 4/128GB, and 6/128GB, with our mounting device as an average description.

In our comparison session, the Galaxy A51 showed that it is not within the price range set by competitors. The Snapdragon 730 present Realme X2 and Xiaomi Mi 9T are significantly more powerful in all applications, either CPU or GPU intensive. Huawei Nova 5T, based on the flagship Kirin 980 SoC, has its own class but fits the budget. The A51 keeps the company’s Nokia 7.2 in terms of CPU performance, but even the old Snapdragon 660 at 7.2 has better graphics than the Galaxy.

Tangible camera upgrades

The Galaxy A51 has a pretty compelling camera setup. Starting with the 48MP Quad Bayer main unit, one you’ll find about 9 out of 10 midrangers today. Then there is the ultra-angle camera angle ultra 12MP, an update to Samsung’s ultra-wide 8MP to fit into something other than the flagship.

And that’s where it gets interesting: the A51 also has a 5MP macro camera, while others choose a much more modest 2MP ride in the top rankings. It also has a longer lens A51 compared to the dominant ultra-wide macro devices – with a similar focal length of 25mm, it doesn’t require you to use the phone as much as you do.
Behind is a 5MP camera that acts as a depth sensor and up to the number of cameras printed in materials.
In front, a 32MP Quad Bayer selfie shooter looks from a hole.

Samsung Galaxy A51

The camera app is the same as Samsung with some small design improvements introduced by Single UI 2.0 as the largest source modes and preview the selected mode instead of the fixed bubble above.

Functionally, it’s mostly identical to any other camera app. Swipe left and right to move between all available modes, and you can watch or delete some browser modes. The vertical effect in both directions switches front and rear cameras.

The settings icon is located in the upper left corner of the screen and provides good control of the cameras. Common things like video resolution, networks, location data, etc. can be found here. You also write and turn off optimization settings and set HDR automatically or manually. Meanwhile, directly in the browser, get the page ratio selector, which is how to participate in 48MP – 4:3H mode instead of 12MP 4:03 non-H.

There’s also Pro mode, but as we’d expect from middle-class businesses, it’s not very Pro. Select only ISO (100-800), exposure compensation (-2/+2EV in the 0,1EV range) and white balance (for light temperature). There is no shutter selector or manual focus.

Image quality

The Galaxy A51 takes decent shots, but doesn’t make us go “wow.” It’s not a good dynamic range and controls our hard-lit scenes well. The images are quite sharp and, for example, straight lines are well defined, but we are not big fans of how the phone shows random fine details, such as grass or thin branches. The sound has also been masterfully removed. Colors are generally fun, and the phone strikes a good balance of symphonies.

48MP mode is available if you absolutely insist on getting super large files with some practical advantages. You may be able to separate in a little more detail to walk this path, but you could sacrifice the dynamic range process.

The ultra-wide-angle camera has a significant improvement over the A50 and offers more sharpness and detail. The dynamic range is also significantly better, making the ultra-wide camera fully capable as far as the middle class goes.

Galaxy A51 images at dusk are not great. The output of the main camera is smooth and noisy, while the colors are relatively unsaturated. The dynamic interval is decent, so it’s worth it.

Samsung Galaxy A51

Ultra widescreen camera predictably rates even worse for most of these counts, although we could say they can keep the color better.

Night mode solves a number of dim photography problems on the A51, but comes with its own warning – introducing a significant crop and producing 8MP images. On the upside, the images on the main camera are now sharper and better definition of shade, although we can say that there are benefits in terms of color.

Night mode is also somewhat useful for widescreen ultra camera output, where it greatly improves noise. Flipside is that the images are also a little smoother.

Portraits

The portraits outside the Galaxy A51 are really good. Object discovery and allocation is exemplary, and the interruption is created only by default in the 5/7 configuration (which you specify before or after saving). HDR is also available in live focus mode, which is not set in portrait modes on all phones. It also works successfully on non-human issues.

The “macro camera” dedicated to the Galaxy A51 is better than most other “macro cameras” in the smartphone market. It offers more details and a relatively more usable working distance (3-5cm says visor view). However, this fixed approach means it’s better to have hands and stable items otherwise you could end up with a blurry shot on the bill rather than stay cool on the sweet spot.

When you’re done with real examples, check out our photo-matching tool to see how the Samsung Galaxy A51 competes.

Selfie camera

For some reason selfies on the A51 come out in 12MP, not 8MP logic, which would give a 4-1 result, as we expected from Quad Bayers. This is the approach we saw on the back of the Galaxy A60 in the main camera and on the front and back of the Galaxy A70, so it’s not new. We would say that the phone works binning from 32MP to 8MP and then an expensive 12MP do it with a better number of watches. There is also 32MP mode, but it is without HDR, so we’d run away.

Samsung Galaxy A51

The images move well at the end of beautiful colors and a wide dynamic area. The details are pretty good as far as selfie cameras go.

Portrait mode may not match the multi-vouchers rear configuration and is not as brave on the border between the subject and the background. Still, it works very well: we didn’t have processing errors (chopped ears are our favorite) and HDR is present, so we’d use it.

Video

The Galaxy A51 captures videos up to 4K30 with all independent cameras on the main and ultra-wide rear and selfie cameras. Interestingly, this does not mean 1080p to 60fps.

2160p videos get little power around 48Mbps, while 1080p runs at 17Mbps, and these numbers are the same as both cameras. The sound was recorded on the stereo at 256kbps.

The video’s a little high on a middle-class phone, but it doesn’t break. The images on the main camera have the right colors and are very contrasting, and still pack a good dynamic range. 4K looks overwhelmed when you zoom in, and there are no spectacular pixels in pixels. 1080p, on the other hand, is conservatively sharpened and quite friendly.

The colors of the ultra wide-angle camera video are lightly washed compared to the main shooter, and the contrast is slightly lower, but also there is no reason to be a problem. It’s a pretty good dynamic range because these cameras go and have handled our rather complex scene gracefully.

Stabilization is not available in 4K resolution, but the A51 stabilizes 1080p images with two rear cameras. In videos with ultra-widescreen cameras, they look very smooth and stable, whether you’re walking or pointing in a stable direction. As the main camera, you tend to hunt to focus as you go, creating an unpleasant effect by destroying perception stability. It’s ok if you keep it pointed somewhere and the pans are also quite soft.

The super stable mode was somewhat disappointing as it clocked at 25.5fps instead of a constant 30fps and it looked, yes, less stable than a regular ultra-widescreen cam stabilized by the image.

Here’s a look at how the Samsung Galaxy A51 compares to competitors in our video comparison chair. Go over there and get the whole country. And here’s a short video from the front camera that offers opportunities to take 4K selfies.

Competition

Samsung never has a middle-class easy high-end phone from companies like Xiaomi and Realme. Brand image is one thing, but can the Galaxy A51 withstand competition from brand-agnostic buyers?

At €300, the Realme X2 is 10-15% cheaper than €340 for the Galaxy A51’s 128GB of storage, although Realme has twice as much RAM (8GB vs 4GB). Realme is a much more powerful chipset in the sea with longer battery life. Ultra-wide angle and macro cameras A51 are better, while chief shooter X2 is a compelling case that is not a compelling case and does not have bad screens between the two. We call Realme the winner if you don’t mind that people around the table may need an explanation of where their phone came from.

Xiaomi programming is especially difficult to navigate, with many mid-range models, but certainly not everywhere. The Mi 9T is a fairly global player (known in some markets as Redmi K20) and, like the Galaxy A51, is sold with similar Lyme. Galaxy is back to this power, Xiaomi packs brawnier chipsets and Infinity-O as it can be, the A51 screen is still in the hole, unlike Xiaomi’s retractable selfie camera. The 9T/K20 is also a telegraph camera that Galaxy is not responding to. All you have is a sign that the galaxy is against me.

The new Huawei 5T (or its cousin Honor 20) could be a viable option in the Galaxy A51 price range if you want something that Huawei friendship from the pre-war era when Huawei had Google’s support. The Kirin 980 inside has new animal rights compared to Exynos Samsung, while battery life is similar to the two phones, but we choose the A51 when it comes to displays.

Samsung Galaxy A51

Verdict

The Galaxy A51 offers a feature-like package and works well in most important areas. This is one of the easiest phones in the segment if you still hit the big screen without losing battery life. In general, Samsung, the screen A51 leaves little to complain about. The in-depth update of the camera department means good pictures of all cameras daily, especially large portraits and a “macro camera” that are difficult to update. With the additional features of the updated startup software, which are reserved until recently for the flagship, which is off the attractive list of professionals.

However, it is a question of participants ticking all these boxes as well and then some. Almost every phone money comes from an efficient chipset and you appreciate it, especially if you’re worried, but the upcoming test is also a valid problem. Samsung isn’t too eager for its half-hour cameras shooting foreign in the dark, while others may not pull the punches as much.

More importantly, the main competitors are lower prices, some figures are concentrated. Here, we can’t fully recommend galaxy A51 at the current price. If you are Samsung (which is a feeling that we understand), it is not a bad premium brand cost. Carrier subsidies can also sweeten the Galaxy store, not necessarily getting Xiaomi and the world’s rich. But if we bought a full price, our money wouldn’t be on the A51, which would be difficult to assess by the sea.

Pros
Compact and light-weight for the show size and battery capability, standout style.
Reliable battery life, reasonably fast charging.
Super AMOLED shows that is masses bright and smart with colors.
Beautiful portraits, higher than average detail, usually sensitive picture quality in daylight to all cameras.
Android 10 out of the box, the interface A 2 goes a lot.
Cons
Chipset is not as powerful as what the competition should supply.
At dusk, camera performance is lacking.
No 4K video stabilization, no 60fps mode 1080p resolution.
